District Advisory Committee

The District Advisory Committee (DAC) is a broad-based committee that serves exclusively in an advisory role with noted exceptions (*). The committee is charged with advising the Board of Trustees and district administration on district education-related issues. The committee is comprised of campus-based professional staff, district-level professional staff, parents, business representatives, and community representatives who serve staggered two-year terms. (Representatives may not serve more than two consecutive terms.) 

The DAC generally meets about once a month throughout the school year. All meetings must be held outside of the regular school day. The committee is required to meet at least two times each year and must hold at least one public meeting annually. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in establishing and reviewing the district’s educational goals and objectives through the annual development of the District Improvement Plan

  • Review major district-wide classroom instructional programs identified by the board or district administration

  • Review and analyze information related to dropout prevention

  • Assist in the development of the district instructional calendar

  • Approve district-wide staff development programming*

  • Approve any campus incentive plans developed by a campus-level school improvement team*

Meeting Schedule

All meetings are held from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the Center for Learning & Leadership.
