The purpose of the Name Recommendation Committee is to form three recommendations to present to the DSISD Board of Trustees for consideration for the name of the district's sixth elementary school. Elementary #6 is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in August 2025 in the Headwaters neighborhood. More information on this school can be found here.

DSISD Board Policy on naming district facilities:

• District facilities may be named for local residential areas, local geographic features, or local, state, or national landmarks.

• District facilities shall not be named for persons, living or deceased.

Meetings will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Center for Learning & Leadership.
