Dripping Springs ISD is experiencing a high concentration of growth on three campuses – Dripping Springs Elementary, Walnut Springs Elementary, and Sycamore Springs Middle School. Because of this rapid growth, these campuses have exceeded their functional capacity.
With capacity available at other schools, the district is allowing a limited number of transfers out of these three campuses for the 2024-25 school year. The application period is now open and will run until June 1, 2024.
For the 2024-25 school year, parents may request a transfer of their student(s) out of:
Dripping Springs Elementary
Walnut Springs Elementary
Sycamore Springs Middle School
and into:
Cypress Springs Elementary
Rooster Springs Elementary
Sycamore Springs Elementary
Dripping Springs Middle School
To apply for a transfer:
Students must live within the boundaries of DSISD. Proof of residency is required and must be included with the transfer request:
Current lease agreement AND a current electric bill OR
Settlement statement with signature page/warranty deed AND a current electric bill OR
Current tax statement indicating Homestead Exemption
Transfers will be based upon campus and grade-level availability.
Applications must be submitted annually and will be evaluated for space availability each year.
Transfers are for a full academic year. A student will return to their zoned campus at the completion of the academic year for which the transfer was approved.
Upon completion of elementary school, transferred students will return to their assigned zoned middle school campus.
District transportation will not be provided for transfer students except as provided by law.
Transfer Timeline
Temporary transfer applications for the 2024-25 school year will be accepted until June 1, 2024.
All requests must be made using the district’s Temporary Transfer Application form.
Incomplete forms and requests received via other means will not be considered.
Requests will be considered in the order in which they are received.
Parents will be notified of approval or denial by August 1, 2024.
