After careful consideration and in-depth conversations with our local meteorologist regarding Friday’s forecast, Dripping Springs ISD has announced it will move Friday’s Commencement Ceremony to Saturday at 8:00 p.m. at Tiger Stadium. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m.
The forecast is calling for heavy thunderstorms on Friday that may occur either during the event, which would require the district to cancel the ceremony at the last minute, or preceding it, which would potentially leave significant standing water on the field and be unsafe for students given the amount of electricity used to produce the event.
At this time, the forecast for Saturday is clear and allows us the best opportunity to provide our graduates with the full experience they deserve.
Admission is free and tickets are not required; seating is first-come, first-served. The ceremony will be streamed live at dsisdtx.us/livestream. Parking is available in all DSHS lots; a shuttle will also be available for those who park in the A and B lots. All guests must follow a clear bag policy (see below for approved bags). No outside food, drinks or drink containers will be allowed in the stadium. Water will be available for purchase.
