The Dripping Springs High School Tiger Band advanced to the UIL 6A State Marching Contest after placing among the top five bands at the Area D Marching Contest on Saturday at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio.
Following a preliminary performance in the rain and a weather delay, Dripping Springs delivered its final performance at 10:45 p.m. to secure a spot in the top five.
Dripping Springs will be one of 40 6A bands competing at the UIL State Marching Contest. The Tiger Band will perform second in the state prelims on Monday, Nov. 11 at 8:45 a.m. at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The top 14 bands will advance to the state finals and compete Tuesday, Nov. 12 beginning at 2:15 p.m.
The Tiger Band is making their seventh consecutive and 19th overall trip to the state competition. Tickets and spectator information for the UIL State Marching Contest can be found here.
