Girls Swim - 2025 District Champions

The Dripping Springs High School girls’ swimming team captured the District 26-6A Championship behind seven first-place performances while the boys’ squad earned a runner-up finish on Friday, Jan. 31 at the Round Rock ISD Aquatics Center.

The Tigers snapped Westlake’s decade-long reign atop the district standings with their first district crown as a 6A program and 10th championship overall. 

Seniors Grace Rabb and Macie McCurry led the Tiger efforts with a pair of individual titles apiece. Rabb set a school record in the 200 IM with a time of 1:59.27, finishing five seconds ahead of second place, while also taking first place in the 100 backstroke. McCurry claimed her third-straight district title in the 50 freestyle in a time of 24.25 and placed first in the 100 freestyle. 

In the 200 freestyle, Laurel Hoskovec captured first-place honors to round out the individual titles for the Tigers. Hoskovec, McCurry and Rabb teamed up with Lexi Landrum for a school-record time of 1:47.32 in the 200 medley relay. The 200 freestyle relay of Fairlane Bynum, Hoskovec, McCurry and Rabb also took top honors with a time of 1:37.13. 

The Tigers totaled 168 points with 11 swimmers earning regional qualification by placing in the top six of their respective events. Rabb was named Athlete of the Meet while Michael Hoskovec was tabbed Coach of the Meet. Westlake placed second with 149 points and Austin Bowie also topped the century mark with 104. 

For the boys, Jordan Ledbetter repeated as the district champion in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 59.30. The Tigers earned their first 6A relay victory in the 200 yard freestyle behind the performance of Zachary Collins, Nathan Nolan, Connor Caffrey and Landon Bucher in 1:26.92. 

The Tigers, who earned their highest district finish as a 6A program with 111 points for second place, had six swimmers qualifying for regionals. Westlake captured first with 154 points and Lake Travis placed second with 102.

The Region VII-6A Championships will be held Feb. 6-8 at the Josh Davis Natatorium in San Antonio.
