At Dripping Springs ISD, we believe the athletics program contributes significantly to preparing our students for becoming productive, contributing citizens of our community and society. A comprehensive program of athletic activities expresses our commitment to ensure the development of physical fitness and personal health, the acquisition of competent performances, and the achievement of excellence in the student’s chosen sports. In addition, our aim is to develop a student with an improved self-image, the ability to learn a new skill, and an intrinsic motivation for growth and development.

Dripping Springs ISD has a storied history of athletic excellence! Dripping Springs High School is a 6A high school that competes in District 26 for all sports except wrestling (District 14).

Dripping Springs in the UIL Lone Star Cup

Each year, the Lone Star Cup recognizes six Texas high schools, one in each of the six UIL classifications, based on their overall team achievement in sanctioned UIL academic, athletic and fine arts championships.

Since 1998, Dripping Springs High School has placed in the top 25 of the Lone Star Cup standings a total of 15 times including nine top-10 finishes.
