
A reminder that Friday is an early release day for all DSISD campuses! Buses will run 3 hours earlier than normal. PK-2nd grade bus riders must have a parent or designee to meet the student at the bus stop in the afternoon.


The DSISD Board of Trustees approved the 2025-26 Academic Calendar at the Dec. 16 board meeting. To reduce the total number of instructional days during the school year, 10 minutes have been added to each school day. School times for the 2025-26 school year will be as follows: Elementary (7:40 am - 3:05 pm); Secondary (8:50 am - 4:15 pm). Visit www.dsisdtx.us/calendar to download the academic calendar.


Work on the construction of Elementary #6 and the Sycamore Springs Middle School expansion projects are moving along nicely! Both projects, which were included in the May 2023 Bond, are on time and on budget. We're excited to see these projects coming to life!

On Wednesday, the Citizens' Bond Steering Committee (CBSC), composed of parents, students and community members, held their sixth and final meeting. Thank you to the 40 committee members for their work over the past couple of months to help develop a bond package recommendation for consideration by the DSISD Board of Trustees!


The DSISD Board of Trustees visited Sycamore Springs Elementary on Dec. 11 and experienced lots of learning and holiday cheer. The Trustees checked on 4th grade’s performance of The Nutcracker, visited Polar Express Day in an ACC classroom, practiced writing and revising with 5th grade, and finished their day shopping in Market Days in 3rd grade!

On Friday, the Marines collected nearly 20 full boxes of toys and a $1,500 check from the Dripping Springs High School JROTC's Toys for Tots drive! Thank you to everyone who donated to help children in the Austin area!


Sophomore Anvika Jain has been named one of two students to represent Texas at the YMCA National Advocacy Days in Washington, D.C. in March 2025! Anvika will advocate to members of the U.S. Congress in the areas of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Congratulations, Anvika!

The Dripping Springs High School HOSA program will sponsor a blood drive on Friday, Dec. 13 from 9 AM-3 PM in the front DSHS parking lot. Participants must be at least 17 years old and 115 pounds to donate. Please eat a full meal and bring a photo ID before donating. All participants will receive a We Are Blood T-shirt. A reminder that DSISD schools and offices will be closed November 25-29 for the Thanksgiving break. Classes will resume Monday, December 2.

The Dripping Springs High School JROTC is partnering with Toys for Tots and the Marine Corps to help raise toys and money for Austin area children! You can drop off a new, unwrapped toy at any of the following locations until December 1! Donations can also be made at www.austin-tx.toysfortots.org.
