Attendance Zoning Community Meetings

In preparation for the opening of Elementary #6 and the expansion of Sycamore Springs Middle School in August of 2025, Dripping Springs ISD will hold four attendance zoning community meetings in October to present “starter map” options for new elementary and middle school attendance zones that will go into effect for the fall of 2025.

The community meetings will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17 and Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the Center for Learning & Leadership (300 Sportsplex Drive) board room. The meetings will provide an overview of the attendance zoning process and timeline, sharing of board-approved parameters, demographic information and projected enrollments, and an introduction of “starter option” maps that have been created by the Attendance Zoning Committee with assistance from the district’s demographer.

Since August, district administration and the Attendance Zoning Committee have held three meetings to develop “starter option” maps for new elementary and middle school attendance zones. Any feedback received at the community meetings will be reviewed by administration and the committee before a recommendation is presented to the DSISD Board of Trustees for approval in December 2024.

Elementary #6 is currently under construction in the Headwaters neighborhood off Mira Vista Drive. The campus will accommodate 850 students in grades PK-5. In addition, the Sycamore Springs Middle School expansion is currently underway and will accommodate 1,200 students once completed in the spring of 2025.
