Key PTA Information
Watch DOGS: Watch DOGS (Dad Of Great Students) is hosting a Spring Semester Kickoff & Update Event on Tuesday, January 21st @ 7:00 pm in the RSE cafeteria. Please join us whether you’re a new or returning WatchDOG. We will go over the details of the program specific to Rooster Springs and answer any questions. We will also have some mid-year updates. Most importantly, this will be YOUR first opportunity to schedule shifts that include classroom time with your kids during our "Line Up & Sign Up" portion of the meeting. If you’re looking to reserve a special day (like a birthday) this is the time to do it. We will provide pizza and sodas so please come hungry and RSVP for an accurate headcount. Talent Show: Previews are next week! Sign up here to be part of the magic! Be sure to also visit the volunteer opportunity page of the RSES PTA website to reserve your student or group’s preview time. The Talent Show will be held over two days on Thursday, Feb 6th, and Friday, Feb 7th, from 6-8 pm. Talent show previews (when students come to school and present what they will be performing) will be held after school on Jan 22nd and 23rd from 4-6 pm. Dress rehearsals for the show will take place on Jan 29th and 30th from 6-8 pm (this is mandatory). Please feel free to email talent@rsespta.org with any questions.
Art Appreciation: Art Appreciation is an opportunity to get into the classroom and teach our students about different forms of art. January 28-30 we’ll be learning about the history of woven art and creating our own woven artwork on a paper loom in the classroom. Come join us! Sign up on the PTA Volunteers page.
Message from SSMS PTA: We know the year just started, but the school is already planning for this fall and so are we! SSMS PTA would like to welcome all incoming 6th-grade families! Here are some key facts to get started:
SSMS would like to invite everyone to the annual MS Elective Showcase night on January 23 at 5:30 pm. A special Rising 6th grader presentation will be in the cafeteria at 5:30 and 6:00. All incoming 5th - 7th graders are invited to attend the showcase. All elective teachers will be available for questions. 6th-grade core teachers will also be available to help parents decide between honors or on-level classes.

Are you wondering why Huddle would be a beneficial elective for your incoming 6th grader? In Huddle, students learn an array of foundational skills that help them succeed in their academic journey. Topics include digital citizenship, navigation of Skyward, Gmail, Google Apps, and Canvas. Benefits also include study, organizational, and test-taking skills. Students will engage in direct lessons and hands-on activities for social awareness, emotional well-being, and leadership skills.
