Karalise Moreno and Libby Geisinger

Dripping Springs ISD announced Karalise Moreno and Libby Geisinger as the District Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year, respectively, at the DSISD Board of Trustees meeting on Monday. Moreno and Geisinger were chosen by a volunteer committee comprised of retired educators, and will now represent DSISD in the Region 13 Teacher of the Year selection process this summer. 

Moreno is in her 15th year teaching pre-K at Walnut Springs Elementary, having spent her entire career in DSISD. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development. Moreno was a Campus Teacher of the Year nominee and named a Dripping Springs Education Foundation Teacher of the Month in 2014. She has certifications for Generalist (Early Childhood - 4th Grade) and English as a Second Language Generalist (EC - 4th Grade).

Geisinger is in her fourth year as a special education math teacher at Dripping Springs High School. Prior to arriving in Dripping Springs, she spent two years teaching high school math in Victoria. Geisinger earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Texas State University in 2018. She is certified in Mathematics (7th - 12th Grade) and Special Education (EC - 12th Grade).

Moreno and Geisinger were two of eight educators who were named Campus Teachers of the Year in March. Other Campus Teachers of the Year were Jolene Kokemoor (DSMS, 6th Grade Math), Caroline Massey (CSE, 3rd Grade), Audrea Ross (RSE, Special Education), Adriana Suazo (DSE, Special Education), Dawn Schafer (SSMS, Choir) and Raschel Wagstaff (SSE, Special Education).
