Health Services

Dripping Springs ISD is fully committed to the health and well-being of all students. In recognition of this, DSISD provides a full-time registered nurse at every school. The nurse serves as a liaison between school personnel, the student's family, our community, and healthcare providers to advocate for student health and a healthy school environment.

DSISD nurses oversee the state required immunizations, conduct mandated health screenings, monitor communicable diseases, prepare for emergencies, and offer direct care to students and staff.

We would like to assure you that all medical information regarding your child are handled confidentially by the nurses and school personnel. We uphold strict privacy standards and do not disclose your child's information to external parties or discuss other students' concerns with you.

Emergency Medications
All DSISD campuses are equipped with emergency supplies of epinephrine and diphenhydramine HCL (Benadryl), which nurses can use in case of an unforeseen and undiagnosed life-threatening (anaphylaxis) allergic reaction. Parents of children with known anaphylaxis are expected to provide an individual supply of emergency medication(s) and an emergency action plan signed by their child's physician to the campus nurse at the beginning of each school year.

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)
Each DSISD campus is equipped with at least one Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for emergency situations.
