Dr. Morris-Kuentz and the Superintendent's Student Advisory Council celebrated the graduating seniors on the Council with a luncheon yesterday in the Tiger Stadium press box. Students on the Council can serve all four years of high school and provide invaluable feedback about programs and student experiences in DSISD. Congratulations to the seniors and thank you for your service, participation, and honest feedback through the years!
The Dripping Springs High School baseball team posted a 14-2 district record and 23-8 mark overall to place second in District 26-6A this season! The Tigers will face Round Rock Cedar Ridge in a best-of-three bi-district series starting Thursday.

This first-year program allowed educators to engage in innovative and creative learning experiences with cutting-edge technology tools to prepare for the future and establish themselves as educational technology leaders within DSISD. Congratulations to Dripping Springs High School sophomore Grant Gillum and Dripping Springs Middle School sixth-grader Nora Gillum on capturing state titles for their individual websites at the Texas History Day Contest! This is Grant's fourth-straight state title! They now advance to compete in the National History Day Contest from June 8-13 at the University of Maryland.
Congratulations to the Dripping Springs High School choirs, bands and orchestra for their success at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation this spring!
All three DSHS choirs (Varsity Treble, Varsity Mixed, JV Treble) earned "Sweepstakes" with top ratings across the board from the judges. DSISD's top orchestra, Camerata, and the DSHS Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Bands also earned Sweepstakes with their performances. The Concert Band collected Superior ratings for their concert portion and overall Excellent ratings in sight-reading.
The DSISD Board of Trustees spent the morning at Rooster Springs Elementary meeting with members of the Student Lighthouse Team, learning about the campus’s reading intervention program, participating in a science experiment with 2nd-grade students, and catching up with kindergarten, 1st, 5th, art and P.E. classes. It was an insightful and fun day of learning!

On Saturday, April 13, the Dripping Springs Special Olympics team competed at the Area 13 Track & Field Meet in Leander. Sixteen athletes and eight unified partners competed for the Tigers, collecting more than 20 medals on the day! Congratulations to all of our athletes on a successful area meet!
Progress on the Sycamore Springs Middle School expansion is moving along nicely! Currently, the following work is being done on the project:
- Site work for the main expansion and courtyard
- Work on the geothermal field for the HVAC system
- Underground utilities
For the 5th straight year, DSISD has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education! This distinction is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement for providing music access and education to all students.

Three DSISD students were members of ATX, which captured the Prep Bracket title at the 2024 NWBA Junior Wheelchair Basketball National Championships in Richmond, Virginia! ATX defeated the Bennett Blazers (Maryland) 38-29 to finish the season 30-0. Congratulations to Will Allen (SSMS), Miles Lynn (WSE) and Finley McKeag (SSMS) on this amazing achievement!

Congratulations to the DSHS robotics team, The Spring Konstant, on tying for third place in the Mercury Division at the UIL FIRST State Championship! The team also won the Imagery Award for attractiveness in engineering and outstanding visual aesthetic integration of machine and team appearance.
